March is Money Month!

There's a choice for the month of March and readers are encouraged and (we hope) inspired by the potential for understanding and empowerment that comes from reading about the world's current economic situation. People can bring their comments and questions as we share the book we chose to read and its perspective on our current history.

"Deep Economy" by Bill McKibben
"In this powerful and provocative manifesto, Bill McKibben offers the biggest challenge in a generation to the prevailing view of our economy. For the first time in human history, he observes, "more" is no longer synonymous with "better"—indeed, for many of us, they have become almost opposites. McKibben puts forward a new way to think about the things we buy, the food we eat, the energy we use, and the money that pays for it all. Our purchases, he says, need not be at odds with the things we truly value."

"Enough: True Measures of Money, Business and Life" by John C. Bogle
"In Enough, Jack Bogle, 'the conscience of Wall Street,' distills his half-century of observations on the capital markets, and on life in general, into a few hundred entertaining pages - required reading for those concerned about their own future, their family's future, and the nation's future." - William J. Bernstein, author , A Splendid Exchange and The Four Pillars of Investing.

"Your Money or Your Life", Vicki Robins and Joe Dominguez with Monique Tilford - see www.yourmoneyoryourlife.info for national press release and further info..

Other books about money for further reference: "The Energy of Money - A Spiritual Guide to Financial and Personal Fulfillment" by Maria Nemeth and "The Soul of Money" by Lynn Twist

You are fat and thin and pretty and plain, gay and straight, educated and unlettered, and I am speaking to you all. Here is my offering to you.” - from Letter To My Daughter
